tempedy®

There are various indications and fields of application for therapeutic hypothermia, as well as hyperthermia. However, up to now the methods are generally complex and very invasive.

Our aim is to convert this promising therapeutic approach into a practical reality.

For the first time a personalised and integrated volume and temperature management is possible!

Personalized temperature and volume management is no longer restricted to intensive care units. tempedy® makes a ubiquitous implementation possible.

Every intensive care unit, every resuscitation room, every stroke unit and even any ward can apply our device. tempedy® is mobile, therefore it can be used out of clinic, for example during transport.

tempedy® offers:

—> Temperature management for

Hypothermia

Normothermia

Hyperthermia

—> integrated volume management

—> differentiated interval options

—> feed-back control

—> control option for intracranial pressure

—> minimal-invasive therapy support

—> procedure code (G-DRG, OPS 8-607)

—> simple handling and mobility

The function of tempedy®

Solution from 4°C to 42°C can be infused. Thereby, an efficient alteration of the body core temperature, cooling as well as warming, is possible.

Modes and Schemes of tempedy®

—> patient - controlled

In this mode the patient’s body temperature is altered by infusion of tempered solution within the limits of a manually selected temperature range. For continuous temperature detection tempedy® has three different temperature inputs. One of those can read the PICCO ®-Technology.

The patient-controlled mode can be used during therapeutic hypothermia, to maintain normothermia in intensive care patients or perioperative.

—> fluid - controlled

In this mode solution of a precise and constant temperature can be infused.
This will be needed perioperative or in critical interventions as well as during the treatment of severly injured patients.

—> ICP - controlled

tempedy® can read the input of ICP-sensors. It will not only display the pressure but also the rate of change. Therefore, an early diagnosis of high or unfavourable rates is possible.

Based on these resultscan display and influence the body core temperature individually according to the intracranial pressure.

This mode is specially advantageous during the re-warming phase after hypothermia. The “overshoot” can be prevented which will assure a successful outcome.

—> differentiated interval options

The programming of complex treatment schemes is an other major advantage when using tempedy®. Single phases can be selected and defined separately.

One treatment scheme can be as personalised and differentiated that repeated manual changes of setting are no longer necessary.

Availability

Presumably from the middle of 2013 tempedy® will be available for you and your patients!
